Hi! I’m Chelsea - owner and baker at The Flour Farmhouse in Elma, New York. I started making decorated sugar cookies in July 2023 when my sister requested them for her bridal shower. I had recently left my teaching career after 17 years, and I had lots of time on my hands; I was ready to learn something new! Armed with my 15+ year-old hand mixer from college, a little bit of knowledge gained from watching some YouTube videos, and a LOT of determination, I attempted my first batch of royal icing. It almost turned into a complete disaster, but I managed to salvage the batch and was (thankfully!) able to create something that not only looked halfway presentable but also tasted great! I instantly fell in love with cookie decorating and knew that this was something that I wanted to pursue. 

Since then, I have added drop cookies to my menu. I look forward to offering new items in the future and I’m excited to see how my bakery business evolves!
